Domande frequenti
Molte aziende, soprattutto internazionali, preferiscono CV senza foto.
Funziona con CV in inglese, tedesco o francese?
Sì: legge CV in italiano, inglese, tedesco e francese.
Questions and answers
What is an ATS?
It's the software many companies use to receive applications (ATS stands for Applicant Tracking System). It reads your CV, pulls out your name, contacts, experience and skills, and stores them in a database. Recruiters often don't open your PDF: they look at what the ATS managed to read and search for candidates with the right keywords.
Why can a CV be rejected before a person reads it?
If the ATS misreads your CV, your data arrives empty or jumbled: no email, jobs without dates, skills lost. Your profile then sinks to the bottom of the list even if you're a good fit. It often happens with two-column CVs, tables, text boxes, icons instead of words and Canva designs.
What does the score measure?
How easy it is for an ATS to read your CV: extractable text, standard fonts, a single column, sections with recognisable titles, full contacts, consistent dates, bullet points with action verbs and measurable results. The first number is your CV as it is, the second is the new PDF. Below it you'll find what to improve, starting with what matters most.
Why is the new CV so plain?
Because it's the format ATS software reads best: one column, a standard font, titles like "Work experience" and "Education", dates all in the same format. No strong colours, tables or graphics. It looks simple, and that's exactly what gets it through intact.
Why was my photo removed?
ATS software can't read images: a photo adds no points and in some systems it shifts or breaks the text around it. Many companies, especially international ones, prefer CVs without photos. If the employer expects one (common in Switzerland, Germany and Italy), turn on "Include photo": we place it small in the top right corner.
Why do icons, skill bars and charts disappear?
An ATS can't understand a phone icon or a bar filled to 70%: it reads odd symbols or nothing at all. So we write everything in words: "Phone", "English: B2". The content stays, only the way it's written changes.
Can you guarantee it reaches HR?
Nobody can: the company decides, and how well your profile fits the job matters too. What we can make sure of is that your CV is read correctly, with nothing lost. To improve your chances, use the same words as the job ad (job title, tools, required skills) and follow the tips under "To improve".
Is my CV safe?
Yes. The file never leaves your device: reading, scoring and the PDF all happen in your browser. No server receives it, no accounts, no cookies. When you close the page, it's all gone. Details in the privacy page.
Can I edit the PDF afterwards?
You can fix your name, contacts, summary and skills here under "Fix the details": the PDF updates by itself. For anything else, edit your original CV and upload it again. If you edit it in Word, keep the same structure: one column, standard titles, no tables.
Does it work with CVs in English, German or French?
Yes: it reads CVs in Italian, English, German and French. Section titles in the new PDF can be in Italian or English (choose under "Section titles").
How much does it cost?
Nothing: it's free, ad-free and needs no sign-up. If it helped you, you can buy me a coffee on Buy Me a Coffee, which keeps the site free for everyone.
